November 9th was my 1 (whole) month locaversary!!. Still not much going on with my hair that I can see.I have noticed that my hair seems to be getting thinner , especially at the ends. (look at the pic)
"These Ends have to go". Since my consultant told me that I needed to slow down with the BC for some months to minimize the unraveling, I have set a new BC (for relaxed ends) date. (My original BC date was January 9, 2007. )
May 2007 is the ABSOLUTE longest I will pledge to wait for these ENDS to go. May 9, 2007 will mark 1 one year in graduate school and I will officially be SLd for 7 months .
I can't wait to cut these ends........
Is this normal for my ends to be thinning like this????
Someone else in the lock it up group who was recently SLd complained of the same thing. Any advice or similar photos????????

My ends thinned out too, but perhaps not as fast. It might be happening as the straight ends slip up into the locks and cause bunching. You might be able to slow it down by stretching out any bunches after washing.
B,
Are you supposed to separate the locks from the roots or from the ends??? I am a little confused about the whole bunching thing....
I had thinning also. Stretching out the relaxed ends (after washing and before it dries) is a must to aviod bunching. I also gradually trimmed the ends after each time I went in for retightening - a quarter to a half inch, but not up into the locked portion. And yes, you separate the roots.

You have to have patience with SL's!!! I didn't have relaxed hair so I can't answer your question. Talk to your consultant about it. It's going to take time. Take a look at my blog and look at the very first day up to the present. It has matured tremendously and it is still maturing. I hated them in the beginning but now I have NO regrets.
It looks like your hair turned out to be really lovely in the end. I live in Dallas and am contemplating getting SL's but am not sure where to go, did you get yours in Dallas or another city?
