I doubt your hair would grow enough in two weeks for a retightening, although you may have some slippage. I think my first one was at 4 weeks.
Your hair looks just like mine did. The way I liked to wear it the most when it was mostly relaxed was a braidout. (There are pics in my August 2005 archives.) You can see how it started to look less like braids and more like locks over time.
Don't fret! It sounds like everything is going just fine.
One more thing I forgot to mention. Since you're used to relaxed hair, you have to get in the mindset of letting your hair do its own thing. You won't have every hair in place like relaxed hair, and there's no need to have the locks tightened down to the scalp at all times. Most women wait 4-6 weeks in between tightenings.
Thanks for the advice B. ooohhh, was that a relief!!. I certainly don't want to get caught into the consultant woes... Even though I think my consultant knows SLs well. You know we all have doubts sometimes...
Patience deary. Your SL's will be more definable in due time.
I'm at the 3 week mark now and I was told by my consultant that my first retightening will be at 6 weeks and I am not to shampoo until then. My last shampoo was the day after my installation. I wore braids for the most part over the last 10 years so I'm used to going weeks without an intense shampoo. This may be a challenge though for all of us newbies but we need to stay the course. It's great having the "veterans" around to offer guidance.
this is great to see! I have friends that need to see the possibilities of going natural from relaxed hair. I love it! Do people thing the sl's are extensions? YOur hair is pretty!
Cheleskilove,
I don't even think anyone can actually tell I have SLs yet. Many SL veterans say it takes much patience when coming from relaxed hair. But anyways, I certainly can tell I have them because I felt in in my pocketbook when I paid $500.00 for them...........
Hi Lakeisha!
You're hair is going to be simply beautiful dahling.
Your hair is looking great...I really can not wait to see the stages it goes through.
